5 month update

Bradie is now 5 months old! He's over 20lbs now and breaks our back when we carry him in either the car seat or the Bjorn. He truly lights up our days when he smiles and laughs. He's rolling over to one side, he loves both his Johnny Jumper and his excer-saucer. He has two teeth coming in and has tried both rice cereal and bananas! He usually sleeps through the night but the past week he's been waking up at 1am for a brief feeding and back to bed he goes. We think he's waking up because he's got a little cold right now.

Last weekend Bradie stayed with Gma & Gpa Laws while mom and dad were in Dallas for Matt & Corley's wedding which was soooo fun! It was great to get home though and gave a whole new meaning to "coming home."

Baby Bradie has Arrived

As many of you know by now, baby Bradie Steven Mittelstadt was born a few weeks late on August 14th 2009 at 2:26am. He weighed in at 9lbs 14.6oz and 21 inches long.

He has been warming up to his new home nicely and is a lot more comfortable now that he has pooped on the couch, peed on both of us and also zuked on Bentley...Bradie has no shame :)

He is a good eater at this point he seems to prefer meals every two hours during the day unless there is a long nap and about every 4-5 hours at night. We were shocked when our little angel slept for 7 straight hours one evening last week, and we were hopeful that that was his new normal, but we weren't so lucky. We can't complain though we do get a fair amount of sleep for having a newborn at home.

My sister Debbie stayed with us all last week to help me adjust to things and it was so wonderful having her here. We've nicknamed her the Baby Whisperer because it seemed as though she was the only one who could calm Bradie. We are obviously missing her this week!

I know that I shouldn't be so shocked by this but the amount of diapers and wipes that we have already gone through is amazing, I had no concept of how many diapers we'd be changing...correction...Eric would be changing ;)

Some other exciting news is that at our 2 week check up Bradie received a clean bill of health and weighed 10lbs 1oz. He is one strong boy, he has pretty good control of his head and neck, he tracks well and is very aware of his surroundings. He loves going for walks in the Bjorn and I love it even more because he usually falls fast asleep!

We are gearing up to take our first road trip next week to celebrate Matt & Karee's wedding in Pullman. Eric and I are both in the wedding so we've enlisted the help of GLove Linda & Grandpa Steve to help us watch Bradie. We are all super excited for the big event!

I am running out of juice on my computer so I am going to cut this post short, plus I hear someone waking up :)

Yep, we went out on the boat on Seafair! I thought it would induce labor, we weren't not so lucky. It's a week later and still no baby.

Thanks Deb & Jade, we had a great day on the boat!!

And we wait..

It's clear to me now that babies come when they are good and ready. It doesn't matter how much you will them to come, they have their own agenda. I think it might be a character trait of LEO's (that is the boy's astrological sign). I am very thankful that my lil one has enjoyed his stay at the Holiday Inn known as my womb :)

I can't tell you how excited I am to meet the lil guy and see who's been kicking me for so long! I am making a Moroccan Chicken Stew that has been proven to induce labor...it's pretty involved but I think it will be worth it. If nothing else, I will have a delicious dinner tonight.

32 WEEKS AND COUNTING...

An enjoyable boat cruise with friends and family on one of the record hot days in early June. These pictures were taken shortly before the wind storm blew in fast and furious! I can't believe that I am going to continue to get bigger and bigger, I don't feel like there is any room to grow.

Baby Daddy Proposes to Baby Momma

Baby now has parents that are engaged to be married...the baby is very excited about this and is kicking momma all the time :) So I guess we won't hyphenate the last names after all. We both thought Kjorvestad - Mittelstadt would look great on the back of a sports jersey.

IT'S A BOY!!!

Today we found out that we are having a baby boy! We had a "Sex Party" to reveal the sex of the baby to our immediate family and it was such a fun experience for us all. The Grandmas cried of course and all four aunties jumped with excitement at the news. It feels so surreal and we can't believe that this is actually happening.
